Hi valdim, I'm a pole spear user in Japan. You're right, two joints pole spear is comfortable to carry.
And there is not big difference about their power and blow distance between two joints and one.
If you're gonna use plane, you'd better to choose two joints. But in my opinion, one joint is cooler and the simple is always theoretical.
So it sometimes makes me strange in public, especially in crowded train peculiar to Japan
