Rotating ice circle

Met Office mystery over rare ice circle formed in Devon - Times Online

Never heard of this before. I guess a regular thin ice chunk gets in a rotating eddy and eventually erodes to a circle, and probably just keeps shrinking down to a teeny circle.

I thought it might be a frozen bubble ring from an underwater hockey player or diver!

They’re a funny lot down in Devon, I reckon it was one of Scottwilson’s Frisbees that fell in the river.roflrofl
Tis fascinating stuff though, but aliens well I’d have to doubt that they’d just come here to make the occasional ice ring and crop circle??
Any thought’s people???
