Hi all,

I've noticed some cracking on my both my rubbers, looks like one of my recent fish put up a fight and did some damage??? But to be honest I can't tell how it happened, the gun is less than 4 months old and under 20 dives on it and has been cleaned down after every use.

Anyway I went to order replacements today, and I had selected the standard slings but then saw the s45's for not too much more. So I got them.

But after reading I'm wondering if the s45's are too powerful? Should I have gotten the standard?

Cant say because I don't know what s45's means?
Bands are sold in lots of different diameters - 14, 16, 18 & 20mm are the most common.
What dia & length was on the gun before?

S-45's are Cressi made 18mm (18.5cm for a 75 gun) specifically designed for the comanche and gerimino but some reports from users say they are 'extremely' hard to load, albeit more powerful than standard 18mm that come with the comanche (which is what i have)!

Some feedback I noticed 'after' i bought them :(

Suppose its not a huge problem in the scale of things. I didn't think for the extra fiver there would be a difference in power, I just thought it may have been made better or last longer?

S-45 bands are perfect for Comanche and for the "Gerry". Trust me. I have the S45+ on my Comanche and they are wonders. The G20 were overkill and messed the accuracy. I'd recommend the G20 with a 7mm shaft, but not with the standard Cressi shaft. S45 are just perfect and...did I mention? They're just perfect for your gun.

I dont think it will make much difference however you might find that by fitting a circular band & using dyneema you can avoid the main cracking point.
You might also gain a little more power because of the extra band length although you may prefer to use 16mm bands bought by the metre & replace more often.
You original band might of been quite old if the gun had been on sale for any length of time?

I use a 75 for night diving & occasionally hunting the weed beds, I have a 16mm bulk rubber circular band fitted, one wrap of mono line & 2mm dyneema wishbone - nice & easy to load & simple to use.

My mamba 90 is shorter than my 75 band gun & has about twice the range so I am not to bothered about using thick powerful bands :D

I am using 75 Comanche for about 4 years and i just replaced bands once add to this i never see any cracks on them. i saw some cracks on my friends rubbers and they were due to sun. Big possibility for the old age of rubbers before usage as FoxFish mentioned.

S 45 is the type of the rubbers and they are coming with different sizes and depends on you which one to chose usually i prefer 16mm bands it is easy to load. now a days i buy bulk rubbers and make my own rubbers they are great and cheaper :D
