Interesting. I´m planning on going in June and being fined when leaving the airport with the rig in the hand would be such a shame ;-)

Info will be appreciated:inlove

Very best regards
Herup

Hi Herup,
seems that is a bit difficult to spearfishing in Malta when you get in Malta airport you need to declare your speargun for their laws is like a firearm
after that you need to go to the police station to get a permission and it will take about 2 weeks:head. It's ridiculous I'm going in september for a week so I got not chances to get it (permission).I brought the ticket 1 month ago to get it cheaper but if the situation dont change (and i dont think so) I'm not going to Malta but and I will go to my beloved italy or spain which there are no restrictions and no permissions needed for this beautiful sport. When I plan my holidays I first think "spearfishing" and as Malta is now an EU member I wasnt thinking they got this restrictions.

Thanks mate, yes, it seems like it is quite a difficult issue, since apparently it´s not possible to get a permission on forehand. Hmmm, so no spearing, only freediving, but that´s also sweet, just doesn´t quite fill the dinner table...:D

Very best regards
H!
