Russian Forward Latching Pneumatic

Here is a forward latching pneumatic speargun from Russia. Unlike the RPP guns this one uses a rotating cam as the sear lever, same mechanism as used by Vlanik in his guns. Early guns from France also used this system, but placed it in a mid-handle, examples being the Sallematic guns. Judging by the size of the hand pump this gun is similar to the guns now made by Alpinasub, however it has a different handle and clamping arrangement to secure the concentric tank and inner barrel. I don't know the designation code for this gun, assuming that it had one. A non-floater by the look of it with front tied spear, but with no obvious line wrap system.

32 years ago. A similar homemade gun. The harpoon line wraps around the cone of the front cover. Whisper roller with the selected segment! So designate correctly!
