„Na nádech“ is announcing a freediving competition for all who are inhaled into the stock. Within one day you can have as many starts you can handle (the AIDA ranking). And at the end of the competition, you will have the opportunity to show your ability in a specific relay in dynamics.

Sounds very interesting!
Can you explain a little better for dummies like me, what exactly it means?
It seems that one books the time slots, instead of announcing performances, right? and one could do one STA and one DYN, or two STA's. Or pay some more and do 2 STA, DYN, DNF?...

yes, you have to book time slots first. There will be time right before competition during registration to announce performances. for a regular starting fee 500Kc (20€) you can book two time slots (any disciplines, eg STA + STA or DYN + DNF) and one slot for the relay. Or you can pay 100Kc (4€) for every additional time slot and book as many time slots as you wish. You can go both three disciplines or just one discipline three times or even more times, it is just up to you. There will be probably some free time slots even during competition, so you can book just two in advance and then decided during competition for an other start. cost of it is the same - 100Kc/additional start.

my english isn't perfect, but I hope that it is clear now

we would like to make this competition a little different from regullar comps. It's why we are going to try this system and from the same reason we put the relay to the end of competition.

hope it will be fun

so what about "singles" for the relay?
will the organizers provide some matches? or should we start looking here?

if there will be some singles in the day of competition we will provide some matches. But if you would like to plan some strategy for the relay it is better to make a team in advance. you can try to ask anybody from competitor list where you can see easily who is single right now. Some people were trying to find a relay buddy at our facebook page, but at this moment there is nothing available, may be you can post there a qestion.

see you in the pool :)

ok for people like me who are allergic to facebook... if some freediver lady wants to team up with me in Prag for the relay pls contact me... you can follow the link in my signature or send me a pm on DB.
If this fails, I'll see if I can find a buddy on the day of the competition.

On the day of comp. you will definitively find a buddy. I am not sure if it will be a girl, we will have only a few of them, but you can make a team with boy as well. there are some points penalties, but also some advantages. boys usually swim longer distance = longer time = you have more time to breath and recover between your second dynamic. and it's a big different when you can breath eg. 2minutes instead of 50 seconds.
may be it's a good idea to try to make teams a little in advance, when we will have all competitors inscribed - about 2 weeks before comp. I will think about that.

Hi,
the competition is coming soon and we have some new information and recommendation we want to share with you.
1. The after-party will be held in the hotel JAS, which is located next to the pool.
2. We have arranged accommodation at the hotel JAS for a better price (500CZK per person) in 2,3 or 4-bed room (without breakfast). Who would be interested, please contact us. An other option of accomodation is student's hostel ČZU, where prices vary from about 250-400CZK.
3. We would like to remind you that you need to have the medical examination issued no later than October 16, 2009 at the registration before the competition. This document will not be required from non - AIDA competitors.
4. Competitors from abroad, who have not paid the starting fee yet, can pay on the day of the competition at the registration. If someone decide (during the competition) for another start in a free OT, he/she must pay a fee for it straight in the competition.
5. We'd like to ask teams, who are already paired for the relay, to choose the starting time and send it to us. This will make the organization easier. For those, who are not paired yet, we would recommend to find someone before the competition, so you could try how much you can swim. You can try to find someone here, where you can also go for any further questions.

Here is some advice for the relay:

1. It is better to start at the edge of the pool (especially without fins), so that the second swimmer do not have to go to the other end of the pool during relay :) So, for example, 75-50-100 -?? is right, 50-75-100 -?? is not recommended.
2. In DYN you can pass the baton in the middle of the pool, but it is more difficult to negotiate a handover. This is also possible without fins, but you lose the possibility of the bounce, which is a pity.
3. In practice, it turned out to be the best to leave the longest DYN at the end of the relay, even that there is a trouble with putting on the fins during the relay. So far, the best-tried scenario is DNF1- slowDNF2-very slow DYN1 -max DYN2 or DYN1 - slow DNF2 - very slow DNF1 - max DYN2.
4. If you are not paired yet, it is good to try if you are able to swim for example 75mDNF ,1 minute rest and then 75 meters DYN so you can make a couple during the competition with someone and tell him/her how long you will swim.
5. In case of equality in achieved distances by two teams, the winner is the team whose shortest dynamics was longer, i.e. 50-50-50-50m is better than 25-25-25-125m. In the case of equality in shortest dynamics, the second shortest dynamics counts, and so forth.

Announcement of results and prizes:

Since we have no sponsors and the starting fees will probably be enough just to pay for the pool, please do not expect valuable prizes. However, we at least want to give some symbolic prizes - for the relay and then to the swimmers, who will collect most points in a total sum of all disciplines (except for relay). Points are counting together from all disciplines, with 2 or more starts in one discipline the worse result counts only half points scored (i.e. 1x 200m DYN = 3x 100m DYN).
