not sure if ive posted in the right area sorry. my question is, how can i safely dive? What i mean is, while descending i know about pinching my nose and gently blowing out and that works great for me, my problem is how do i equalize me ears while ascending? have googled this but cant seem to find any posts on it, any other tips for longer breath hold dives without hyperventilating would be great help guys thanks :)

You don't have to equalize on the ascent. the expanding air will release by itself from the airspaces (middle ear, sinuses).

Longer breathholds? more relaxation during the breath up and the dive and a lot of dives...
