I currently have my vessel in Campbell River, BC. It is in close proximity to many islands and wonderful diving locations. For the next month at least I will have it there and if anybody wishes to arrange to get out for a mix of sailing and freediving with me, feel free to contact me.

The vessel is a 34 foot racer/cruiser so it is roomy but tight. ;)

I will be starting with this coming weekend of July 8-9 taking it out to the HMCS Columbia wreck off Quadra and Maud Islands, nearby to Campbell River.

Cheers,

Tyler

Hey! Okay, so i just got done talking with my mother and she was a little iffy on the subject. I'd love to come and watch or maybe dive a little bit(i don't have a suit, so many if i came on a day that someone had an extra i could use.) What's the average temp. of the water? Where would we cook/ sleep :p? I know that charters and stuff charge you money per hour or something, so would you need like any money for gass, lol? If i didn't have a wet suit, would it be warm enough that i could go for like 5 or so minutes under.. haha?

That sounds wonderful Tyler. Maybe next time :)
I look forward to hearing about it.

Xyser, how tall are you? What size of feet do you have? Maybe we can scrap together some equipment for you.

The wreck dive may not be the best environment for you to get your first hands-on, as it will be a fairly deep dive and most of us will be preoccupied with diving the wreck under a limited window of opportunity, due to currents. After the wreck dive however, we most likely will head to other locations where we would be able to give you some assistance and partner with you. You need somebody that can buddy up with you as you dive and especially some one-on-one assistance to get you diving effectively.

The plan would be to sleep on the sailboat. Also, if participants are interested, after the wreck dive we may just go sailing for the fun of it and maybe incooperate diving into it. Does this interest you?

Cheers,

Tyler

How was the Campbell river trip? I was hoping to see some pictures posted on the group's list or something. :D I've always wanted to dive a wreck, but agree that it's probably still out of my league somewhat.
Perhaps, XyseR, if you're still interested, you could join us at Pavillion (see the Altasub section)... or are there some good diving spots somewhere between here and Van? :)
