The Mermaid Challenge pool sessions are taking place in London on the 14th August 11.30 am to 1.30pm and in Bristol on the 16th August 8-10pm.

If you would like to come along and help out with either of these please let me know. I have invited six "mermaids" to each session

thanks

Sam

Deepest Dave and I ran the London session today and it went brilliantly. Haven't had as much fun in a pool in a while.

Many thanks to Hannah, Deniz, Laura, Grace, Mandy and Claire who all came along, some from a seriously long distance away. Everyone did really well and most importantly worked supportively and safely together despite the competitive element.

Without giving too much away to the Bristol posse coming to the pool on Tuesday - I hope you lot had a good time and that any bruises from the err... rather lacking in rules... snorkel hockey are clearing!

Will be in touch in a few days regarding the next step and photos and the full story wil be on the SaltFree site in a day or two.

Thanks to Dave too for coming out of freedive hibernation to help out

Sam - the girl in the photo named Mandy - has she been to Dorothea? she looks like someone i've spoken to there a couple of times. the girl i spoke to expressed an interest in learning but never really followed it up.

Dave looks very happy in that photo!

could well be, she's called Mandy Buckley, lives in Cheshire and her husband is a tech diver - so yes I guess it is probably her!

yeah, she was from the North West. it must be the same person.

Mandy and Hannah, another SaltFree Mermaid make their Chepstow debut next weekend - watch this space for news!

Our Mermaid has another Sponsor - many thanks to Suunto UK for providing her with a D3 to monitor her progress. Who will it be? watch this space.....

Great fun today Sam, lots and lots of dives! :thankyou

I'll be there for mermaid training through the winter....even if you drop the rope from 25 to 30m on me next time :hmm .

I hope they all continue diving.

I've been reading about the challenge and GOD how I wish I'd live in England... Everyone needs some help to make their dreams come true, so good luck to all the mermaids!
And Sam, there aren't any plans of a Challenge next year open for girls from other countries as well? I'm dying to get the opportunity to go for my dream... but living in Norway
