SaltFree Divers invite new friends and all those we see all the time and are a bit bored of.... (only kidding) to the SaltFree Splash - a Constant Weight with Fins Competition, with AIDA Ranking, on the 9th September at Chepstow, near Bristol in the UK. Bristol has an international airport with great Easyjet connections if you are not a "local"....

Full details are on www.saltfreesplash.com along with an entry form. If you enter before the end of June it is cheaper.... closing date is 9 August.

This Competition will give you an International AIDA Ranking place for 2006 so you can boast to your mates that you are 135th in the world and prove it.. if you are into that kind of thing. It also counts towards Team Selection for the UK Team for Hurghada in December.

More importantly, it will be a great chance to catch up with old mates, make some new ones, have a great party on the Saturday night (Details being finalised.. watch this space) and try out our fantastic location if you have not dived there before.

We have up to 85m to play with, THE original "Angels of the Deep" offering scuba support AND the all new counterweight system.

Hope to see some of you there, if you don't want to compete but would like to come along and help or just hang out - let me know and you're more than welcome.

Sam

Don't forget - the closing date is 9th August - fast approaching

The CW competition is on Saturday 9th September, that eveing we will have a small, quiet, social gathering (errr.... that doesn't sound like SaltFree!) and then on Sunday there will be some strange and wonderful fun diving events at Chepstow..... so far suggestions for this include a "beat the computer" dive where you swim to what you think is.. for example.. 20m.... and the closest person wins.... we might even have some cool prizes....

other things to do on Sunday include a snorkelling exploration of all the new attractions at NDAC www.ndac.co.uk and the opportunity to just make a load of relaxed dives for a laugh...

hope to see you there

SPECIAL OFFER!! DIVING LESS THAN 30M? JUST PAY FOR YOU DEPTH!!

As you know we are hosting the UK's only AIDA Competition this year on the 9th September at the National Diving and Activity Centre, Chepstow near Bristol. Freedivers from all over the UK and abroad are coming along to show what they can do in Constant Weight with Fins.

At SaltFree we are always after new divers and this event is no exception. Whilst the deep boys and girls who have already entered the competition have a good chance of winning a cool prize, or maybe getting on their National Team - we understand that £50 is quite a bit to fork out if neither of those things are on your to-do list.....

We do also know that competing can be great fun, a real challenge and that just being around a freedive competition is a great way to build your confidence, have a laugh and meet lots of other like-minded nutters.

So, at this stage, we would like to invite entries for anyone who plans on posting less than 30m and we can offer you a very special entry fee.

Quite simply, your entry fee is whatever depth you are going to dive - so if you plan on having a go at 15m, pay £15, 20m for £20, 8m is £8 and so on.....

http://www.geocities.com/samdive/splashpaypal.html

Of course, like the big boys and girls - you can change your depth up until 6th September - but it can't go deeper than 29m and if you do change, we will be hitting you for a donation to Mencap, our chosen charity this year, of a £ for every metre difference!

The entry form is attached, you can pay by paypal from our website or send a cheque or bank transfer - details are on the form. You will also need a Medical Statement signed by a doctor to say you are fit to freedive, you can download that from www.saltfreesplash.com

Also, in the spirit of helping the newbies, if you don't yet have all your kit, we are happy to lend you stuff for the day. We have plenty of fins, masks, snorkels, weight belts and can help you find somewhere to hire a suit from.

So, no excuses, come along for a laugh and get your first competition under your rubber belt! You'll have a great day, meet lots of interesting people and get a cool, green, chilled out dive under the best of conditions. Plus you can go home and show your mates on the internet that you are an AIDA Ranked Freediver - so what it if you are number 183 in the world - you did it!

Entries are open until we are full - we'll let you know!
