Well i received this gun a while ago and to be honest i haven't had the chance to test it yet, due to time restraints and endless rain.

But i have dismantled it and gave it a few basic mods (removed the power reducer, fork oil and a knee loader), removing the power reducer was harder than in a normal airgun due to the unique system and the mod had to be permanent. It came with a multi loader but i have no idea what it is for, it is hollow and appears useless, it also came with a detachable tip (why?)

Overall the gun looks nice, the handle is a little more comfy than the asso, but the huge rubber back has me a little worried about aiming. Really the gun reminds me a lot of a asso, except there area few key differences.
Pros: It has a 2mm trigger pin
The muzzle can except 7mm and 8mm spears and it is very hydrodynamic
The spear is a fixed single flopper style
Cons: No Bag
The trigger casing is raw brass (it will react to the salt water)
The line release is small and flimsy(when compared to the asso
The spear is coated steel not stainless

Interestingly the gun is called a 130 but it measures 138cm and the spear is 150cm long. The gun is basically the same size as the asso 135 except for the big rear plug that gives it a little extra. The last photo shows the line up you can see it is the same size as the asso 135.

For 113euro, it is a good price but if you can get a vuoto for 146euro then thats the bargain (a vuoto 120 would be perfect)! If you are looking to choose between the asso and the vintair, go which ever is cheaper.

I will post a review when i have used it. Note this gun was a impulse buy

Was the instruction manual for the gun updated for the new vacuum muzzle, but similar to the one for the "Vintair"? The latter is available as a download from the "Salvimar" web-site. I am thinking of the "Vintair" and the "Vuoto Air" having a shared manual now that the new gun is out.

The manual was more comprehensive than the seacs or mares. But it did not include any details of the Vuoto.

Hey Gazz,
Curious about their power regulator mechanism which I have read about but can't really picture it.
Do you happen to have some pics of it when you dismantled it?

Or maybe just the parts as they are now, on their own?

No hurry of course - as said, just curious.

Cheers,
D.

Here is the parts diagram. Power regulator control valve is an upstream valve and also functions as the one-way valve between the two reservoir sections. A curved plastic segment (14c) with a rubber piece (14d) on the rear contact face is mounted on the sprung-loaded control rod (14e) and covers the air transfer holes in the partitioning bulkhead. The spring (14b) is held on the control rod with a nut (14a). When you push the regulator knob forwards it lifts the curved segment off the air transfer holes and you have maximum power. Two air transfer holes (sitting either side of the control rod) rather than one which you have with a transfer port plugged by the usual piston mounted on a control rod and which is a downstream valve. The latter requires a separate one-way valve in the partitioning bulkhead (14).

Hi Gecko,

I didnt take any photos,
but below is a pic of the same system from another forum. Its actually a clever design, personally i think they could make the holes much larger.

When I dismantled my Scubapro "Magnum" some years ago I noticed that the two air transfer holes had a plastic strut dividing each hole into two halves, so in a sense there are four holes, there being a grouped pair on each side of the reciprocating control shaft. As this strut feature must be there for a purpose my guess is it is there to minimize the rubber sealing plate on the back of the sliding segment being squeezed too much into the holes by the pressure differential existing in the gun after a low power shot. If that is the case then that will be why the air transfer holes are not larger. If the guns lose pressure from the rear air reservoir (inner barrel and pre-chamber) and not the front tank then the power regulator can seem to be jammed if left in the low power position because the pressure differential is clamping that sliding segment tight against the partitioning bulkhead. To free it you just put more air into the gun with the hand pump as that removes the pressure differential, I have had to do it a few times as I store the gun with the power regulator control knob or cursor set in the rearward or low power position. Some owners have pulled their guns apart when they need not have as the leak may be very small, but makes a difference over a long period of time.
