Elios and several other well known wetsuit manufacturers have started sandwiching materials between layers of neoprene to provide enhanced strength and durability. This got me to thinking.........(stop looking scared, the smoke will clear in a minute)

What other materials could you sandwich in there to help with performance? Mylar, an old standbye in camping. blankets, etc seems like it could be useful. It works mainly by reflecting body heat (if memory serves me correctly) rather than using trapped air as a thermal insulator. Would it be possible to adhere strips of mylar to a spandex backing and sandwich it in between 2 layers of neoprene to gain any warmth? Would the density of the neoprene have inhibit the heat reflective qualities of the mylar?

Just thinking out loud and wondering if anyone has any experience with an application like this.

Thanks in Advance,
