Sark is a tiny Island about 9 miles across the sea from my home in Guernsey.
I love this place, no cars only horses & a few tractors. Sark has the most beautiful & dramatic scenery you can imagine, it also has very interesting caves to discover & investigate.
Here are some pics we took yesterday while on a weekend trip we made to make the most of the big 10mtr spring tide.
We decided to visit the Derrible caves, they are reached by descending the 300' high cliffs mainly down steps but a bit of scrambling as well. The bay, the caves are named from, "Derrible Bay", is a wonderful place that on this occasion offered a bountiful collection of flotsam & shellfish!
I did not go prepared for collecting the culinary delight known as the "Ormer" that lives under the weed-covered stones, that are only exposed on the lowest of tides. This resulted in not only wet feet but rather bruised & cut hands as well. However, this was a small price to pay for an unforgettable afternoon.
