Saudi Eastern Province & Bahrain Spearfishing & Freediving

Hi to anybody in this part of the world,

I now live here but can't find any English speaking Spearo's.

I know that spear fishing is illegal in Saudi & Bahrain but it happens.

Can anybody help me find a buddy to go hunt with?

I have come from Australia where I've dived (Freedive & tanks) and spearfished for over 10 years. I have not got my gun and gear here as I was told it would be confiscated at the airport, so I'd need to get hold of a gun etc. too.

Hope someone can help me get free diving soon.

I'm living in Dhahran and have taken an interested in freediving. I've been learning how to hold my breath longer and am interested in exploring the area. I've read that its a bit dangerous to go it alone, but I don't really have a choice right now as I don't know anyone to go out with. I've been going to Half Moon for about two weeks now and just seeing how deep I can go and for how long. If you want to get together, let me know. I'd be interested in going anywhere and trying my best at diving - maybe shooting something too. I think its legal to spearfish with a pole spear (I don't really know what that is cause I've never spearfished), but not the gun type...
