in most areas it's illegal to collect scallops under certain size so inform yourself before.

it is a shell, living in the sand. you can find it in very clean sea only. if the area is populated, you can be prepared that you'll find it on +45feet.
the shell is opened during the day only so you'll see thin opening in oval shape, cca 5cm long. if you'll cover it with your shadow, it will close itself so the best technique is to spot it on the surface and dive down so you don't put it in shadow. you can also dive around the bottom and look ahead of your shadow. you can collect it with hand and put in a bag or something. when it will be in a bucket for some time it will start clapping, interesting to see.

the recipe -->
clean the shell on the outside.
open the shell with a knife. the meat is pink, the muscle is white and guts are red color. the meat is connected with the muscle to the shell. cut out the muscle and guts. cut the meat in pieces.

of course the meat can be also fried and served with pasta etc but my favorite is to ->
add some tomato sauce, popper, salt, pieces of garlic, Rosemarie, parsley, cheese that melts on heat and some white wine. of course less meat there is less additions you put in order to be able to taste its meat. put all this in hollower shell and than put the shell itself on oven bars, above gas burner. cook for 10, 15 min.
eat with bread. drink white wine.

delicious stuff. you'll lick all your 5 fingers.:thankyou

yap same shells like in that beautiful video.

its like collecting wild asparagus. at first it will be all same color, not much success. after 2 hours of collecting it your eyes will be trained what to look for so you will be able to target it like an eagle.
