Ooch
I've never speared on scuba and have no wish to do so but in reality unless your shooting wrasee it must be incredibly hard with all the crap on that goes with scuba never mind having to load a gun as well. Imagine trying to do an aspetto even apart from the bubbles somethings gonna get tangled in the kelp.

I've had that happen with a metal wishbone. But that's what you get for loading a gun out of the water, while drunk, to try and shoot fish that are swimming under the dock. The wishbone hit the muscle in the palm of my hand at the bottom of my thumb. This area was numb for a good couple of hours. I now keep the gun safely tucked away while I drink (regardless of whether there are big stripers under the dock or not) Besides I wasn't able to hit any of them anyway.

Metal wishbones, awful things. We should all be using Dyneema wishbones (says the man with 2/3 of his spearguns with metal wishbones -- currently:D). I can't understand people not wearing gloves when spearing. Although they don't offer huge protection - speaking as somebody who stuck his spearing dagger deep into his palm - but they offer some protection. Kevlar dive gloves could probably offer excellent protection. With the new 2mm super-stretch gloves being widely sold now, fit is unlikely to be a significant issue (but they are v. thin).

Woah! i had the exact same thing (almost) happen to me years ago.rofl

Same type of wishbone and all. Almost took the tops off 3 of my fingers.:blackeye

It looks like he's trying to load it on the top of his leg so the angles not ideal , and the thought of him trying to load that gun with so many people around him makes me cringe.........numpty :)

He was having a lot of problems with that single band. Are those very difficult? I load my 3-band just fine, but maybe it's a different type of material.

He might be loading it against/above his belt buckle, which is what the Omer leaflet suggests. That always scares me, too close to "the old home town" for comfort:D. Load against my chest (sternum) and so usually have my thumbs towards me. I think that is what Omer suggest too (or maybe I saw that on youtube) but it's not so obvious when your gun butt is down low like that.
