i have a question for all you scuba hunters:
what setup do you use for scuba (e.g. reel, float etc...) when hunting big game fish...
a couple of my friends went hunting for tuna on scuba, the following occured:\
1- one of them lost the gun ( an expensive one tooo!!!!!) because it was basically ripped from his hand and there was no float/reel...
2 - the other was dragged from 14m to 31m in less then a flick of a second...by a 30 pound tuna (i cant imagine what a 100 pounder would have done)

so what kind of setups do you use to avoid these situations? i can imagine float lines to be quite messy with several divers at depth... also i think a big fish would pull a spool off a reel in no time....

i am concerned for the safety of these guys, i understand that co2 floats could be an answer, anyone know anything about them, how they're used, who makes them etc...
cheers

Marwan,

Having a good reel on your gun will be answer. I found it very helpful during freediving or SCUBA.

You will need to fight really hard when shooting big tuna it wont be easy i guess.

The good thing about reel that if you have loss something you will lose you shaft and you will keep you gun.
