Hey there all,
New to the board so please bear with me.
I‘m a diver but have decided to try some spear fishing, so I purchased a Seac Fire 75 after doing some research, the gun is a 2 sling gun and seems to be reasonable quality, but the first time I have tried to load the gun, the slings seem way to short, even after stretching the closest sling as far as possible, it seems to be approx 7 inches too short, and the other sling approx 8 inches too short. Can anyone advise where I can find out the correct length the slings should be for the seac Fire 75. I’ve emailed and Facebooked the company but with no response.

Hope someone can help with some guidance Thanks in advance
Mike

If the gun was old stock then the bands may have dried out as they get tough before they get bad enough to crack. If that is the case then swap the bands for some new ones.

Many thanks, just purchased some new rubber and will make some new ones. Thanks for the reply

Could lack of technique be the problem?

I usually use Rob Allen's guide to band length. But I use bulk rubber, like RA.

If your loading technique is ok (?), then newer, longer, thinner and/or softer bands are probably the way forward. Good luck ;)

And/Or try something like this on-line length calculator;

( I have bought rubber etc. from this USA company in the past).
