It looks very good , I did not see the price tag. I've also did not notice a line release.

It is a good deal ! what is a mechanic line release, is it just your regular line release, hook type that releases the line when the shaft pass trough the barel or is the old style omer.

This is probably the best looking gun IMO! Just a few days ago I saw one in a local diving equipment store. It costs some 150 euro for 95 cm. I held it in my hand for a while and it is extremely comfortable and looks very tough. The line release is a hook on the side of the trigger mechanism like the current line release on Totemsub wooden guns.

hi!
I bought an X-fire 95 yesterday, I didn't have much time to try it yet, just about an hour playing around, I will go hunting in the weekend and then I'l have more experience to share. But I can already tell you it's VERY powerful for a single band gun.. the guy in the shop told me that in case of an average gun, the shooting range is about 3 times the length of the gun, but wit this gun it's five times. Well i said I don't want to have the trouble of a 5 metre line so we equipped it with 3 metres of nylon line, without a shock absorber. Well, after the first shot, at the end of the 3 metre range the shaft still had so much power that it bounced back almost hitting me.. and at the second shot, it tore off the steal bridge from the front of the gun to which the line was attached.. it didn't damage the head, didn't break it or anything, and they replaced it in the store, but.. now I do believe that the range of this gun is more than average.

Hi daiquiri,
from your posts it seems that you fired the gun outside of the water. You should never do that! It is extremely dangerous and you cannot get an idea of the actual power of the gun when shot underwater. Water is much denser than air and the shaft is much less powerful. I don't think the gun would be extremely powerful as the stock band looks like 16 mm. I think the best thing about that gun is the smooth trigger mechanism and the full lenght rail as well as the head that offers great visibility.
Cheers!

My bad, I thought that "I didn't have much time to try it yet, just about an hour playing around, I will go hunting in the weekend and then I'l have more experience to share" ment you played with the gun for an hour outside of the water and that you will test it in the water the weekend. Apparently I didn't quite understand it. Sorry.

no problem.. :) I meant I went to the water for an hour just to try it and play aound with it, not to hunt just test it because I was so excited I couldn't wait until the weekend, but neither did I have time to go hunting.

Sorry dude but your post did not seemed realistic to me. Its impossible (as far as i know and observed) to spear bounce back unless you shoot it to rock from very close distance, even that is quite ipossible with single band gun. There is no magic with the brand names, all the power given to the shaft is by the elastic bands, so as long as its standart speargun bands on it... what we used to have on our spearguns, its impossible to have enourmous power compared to other single band guns. Don't belive the everything shop owner said and be more realistic with your observings. :)

Ok tried out a friends 105 this afternoon. Very practical and cool gun. Has a very smart protrusion sticking out from the muzzle where by passing an o-ring on the shaft and the protrusion you can keep the shaft on the open muzzle without having to use the line. Accuracy is satisfactory and gun is quite heavy. My friend has his 105 customised with 2 14mm Riffe bands and it shoots well. Has very sensitive trigger. The seac reel is crap though and gives you hard time. I think for its money its the most practical option around and will probably get the 105 soon.

I did not meant to say liar. All i want to mention is as long as its shooting with one standart length band it will not be twice as powerfull than others with smillar setups. May be you are expecting to much from it :)

It is possible to fit both bands in the single hole of the muzzle.

You load the first band and then insert the other. After that they will both fit tightly.

I was surprised by the comment above. I think most Euro & SA guns come equipped (or enabled) for at least 4x barrel length. E.g. on my Rob Allen railgun, line is attached to rear of spear, goes down the barrel to the muzzle, then back to the trigger cable release (pretty standard) and then back to the muzzle tie-in or bungee. So, the spear travel to the end of the barrel (1m, no line out yet), then the line that was down the barrel (+1m = 2m), then the length to the trigger release (+1m=3m) and then the length back to the bungee (+1m=4m). That's how my RA came rigged and it works well. I reckon you could add another 2m by adding an extra loop around the trigger release & the front (there is a groove) -- or simply use a reel, I suppose.

Using mono (rather than non-stretchy dyneema) and/or a muzzle bungee might be worthwhile (muzzle bungees are generally reasonably prices, at around 3.80 GBP / $6).

I noticed contradiciton in pictures, in some of the pictures body seemed to be standart circular tube shaped and in some others different shape :hmm
