Hi guys,

I was looking into purchasing a Seac Sub Skin Camo wetsuit in 3.5mm but have can't find any good reviews on it. Does anybody know what these wetsuits are like??

Many thanks!

Small world: I've ordered one yesterday! (only trousers, 3.5 mil) to replace my very old Elios pants. I'll let you know. The feedback I've gathered so far is very positive, and the pricing was tempting. So I clicked on that damn shop cart icon and here I am waiting. :)

Hi guys,

My only suit, which I've been wearing for 3 years, is the SeacSub Combat Flex in 5mm. I think it is the predecessor to the Skin Camo Flex.

I bought this suit when visiting Rome 4 years ago. I asked about trying an Omer suit when the store owner told me that the suit was just out and was really superior in terms of flexibility to the others. This is due to the fact that the outer layer is Lycra (or TECHSPAN as Seac Sub calls it), which stretches equally well in all directions, instead of nylon, which stretches best in two directions only. Nowadays a lot of other suits have the outer layer but I can say from experience that the SeacSub suits are great.

Mine is very warm and stretchy. I can comfortably stay in 10 degrees Celsius water wearing them for over 2 hours. None of the glued seams have ever come unglued on mine and the outer Lycra layer is still unscathed after 3 seasons of shore dives with entries and exits in very rocky terrain.

The inner open cell neoprene on mine is extremely plush, which is what makes the suit warm. The only draw back to this is that you have to be careful putting the suit on and taking it off as the open cell is prone to tearing (lots of conditioner is needed). This is try especially around the ankles on the pants. I have a few thumb tears on mine from being to eager to get into or out of the water (depending on the day)... but it's nothing that can't be fixed with some neoprene glue and it is something common to all suits with open cell inside.

I am not 100% sure that the other layer of this suit is also in TECHSPAN as on mine, but the new camo looks great.

Spago, let us know how you like your pants.

Cheers,
Claudio
