Seasoft Free Diving Weight Vest - looking for £40 + £6.50 p & p.
(It was imported from America and cost about £120)
Home page
This weight vest is more like a weight rucksack with the ability to quickly ditch the weights from the rear compartment.
It has a padded back, thigh shoulder straps with chest strap, thick waist band, and a crotch strap. It is very adjustable and fits very securely and comfortably.
The rear compartment is about 40cm x 15cm x 3cm, it is accessed by a strong zip that runs up one side across the top and down the other side. The bottom of the compartment is effectively stitched closed by a thick nylon cable, a yellow emergency handle on the right shoulder strap pulls that nylon cable out of the stitching opening the bottom of the rear compartment. It is quick and easy.
The rear compartment is intended to take the bean bag like soft weights, it has a wide Velcro strap that holds the weights to the bottom of the compartment. I tried it with a flat plate of lead, made by cutting up thick roofing lead and taping together. It will hold around 18kg of lead which is more than enough for anyone, but works well with small amounts.
There are 2 D-rings on the waist and one on the upper left side for attaching accessories and a float or surface line.
This is a very comfortable way to carry weight for a long time.
