Seatec Gabbiano trb 77, 20mm bands!

Hi All,

I seem to be having a problem with accuracy - I own the Gabbiano 77 trb and I am missing what seem like easy shots, is it unaccurate because of the 20mm rubbers?

If this is the case can I change them down easy enough? Again if this is possible what size would you reccomend 16 or 18mm?

Any opinion would be greatly appreciated as I hate missing these easy shots! :head

too thick and powerful. try a progressive 18mm band or just about any 16mm

Its not the bands, I use the same gun and it is like a laser
Easy shots are always the ones you miss! I think it is either thinking too much, or not aiming properly because part of your brain says you cant possibly miss
It is well worth spending an hour or two on target practise, but just remember you should point a speargun with both eyes open, rather than trying to aim it like a rifle

It's Ryan, my girlfriend bought one from you end of June for my birthday it is also a nightmare to cock (housing the articulated wishbone in particular) would 18mm fit in the same threads? That is if I can't get used to it...

Now ive had a few misses with my gabbiano trb (mines a 90) and I miss easy shots as well.

With my old gun I could sort of aim from the hip a little and usually make the shot and I have a tendency to try and do the same with the gabbiano when the fish is close and i dont want to spook it by moving the gun too much (if you see what I mean).

I think its the shape of the end of the barrell that plays tricks on my eye ? i find that I have to site right down the spear (ie aim properly and ensure that the shot is dead on) if i dont do that I miss even the easy shots.

Ive missed enough now to be annoyed so make a concious effort to aim properly when I do that its like a laser as Dave says.

If you are using 20mm bands which came with the gun, you most likly have the bigger thread head for the bands, If you want to down size your bands you will need a replacement head with the smaller diameter. seatec use a larger diameter thread size on their 20mm bands.

The best set for my 90cm seatec gabby, is 16mm bands single barb spear and single wrap of line. I dont like double barb spears because nightmare to get out of a hole if u miss the fish. And with age the barbs dont close very well and can cause the spear to shoot high.

Go shoot some weed, target practice lol.

I have owned one, a 100, deadly accurate, however, I think the 20mm might be a bit to much!
