Seatec Guns: Snake or Geko?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Does anyone know where to get a Seatec gun from in the UK? I like the look of the roller gun and fancy something a bit different.

@Trelawney, spearo.co.uk offered seatecs. You can always get them from EU, I dont think that shipment will be expensive.
OK, that was an in-detail Seatec line release review + a decent debate. I am pretty sure that their line release doesnt do anything bad, otherwise seatec won't be known for its accuracy.
I just found an online store that has a discount for 105 Sporasub One, and it is just 10Euro more expensive than 110 Geko. So now, things get even worse. I will check out One at the local store tomorrow to see how its fits the hand.
But, (I wanted to post it in a separate thread, but just forgot to) I didnt like that Sporasub shaft. I dont remember the name of it, but it is the one with a funny looking flopper.
Say I got it on Monday, shot the first fish with it on Tuesday, bent it on a pretty small grouper on Thursday and the flopper/barb fell off on the same day. (the pin hole is very small, much smaller than on any other shaft = difficulty finding a proper spare barb + difficulty getting the used pin out of it). And finally on Friday both notch pins fell off. Maybe I am just way too lucky with sporasub.

Hi guys,

I own a Snake for 3 years now and I love it. The line release is simple and works well. Even I was sceptic, but it DO works flawless. A 110 with double 16 mm bands and 7 mm shaft kills 99% of the fish I can find in the Caribbean. It is the speargun I use in Venezuela.

The Geko should be an upgrade of the Snake with more mass for a heavier shaft and aspetto use. Probably it doesn't handle as easy in the water, but knowing Seatec quality and engineering, it couldn't be that bad. The new handle is even better than the past one. The barrel is nice and quiet. Is has a exterior lining that supresses noise. The reel is very good and it comes ready to use; you don't need to change bands, shaft, anything.

Seatec is 100% made in Italy, while Sporasub/Jomer is 99% made in China. I don't have anything against China or chinese people, but it is good to know where things come from.

I used to be a Jomer fan. Not anymore. What happened to your shaft is not a unique event. It happens with most of their products. :naughty
