September 21st - I am planning on going to Golden Lake or Lake Geneva in search of BIG Carp and maybe nab some crappies for a meal or two. Probably plan on getting in the water around 9:00 - 9:30am.

Golden Lake was OK when we were there, but I wasn't too impressed with the carp population- or size. Seemed pretty generic to me.

Has anyone been to Rock Lake lately? That place has some huge fish in much great numbers- plus, it's closer.

If Fish Lake has cleared up yet (ted???) that would be a nice place to go. It's small, deep, and has alrage population of smaller, eating, carp.

The Madison lakes are still green so no go there.

I might be able to go, but my wife and I were thinking about doing a 75 mile chairty bike rid ethat day if we can line up the babysitters- so I'm 50/50 at this point.

I'm in. I live close to both these lakes so I could scout the visibility when the date gets closer.

I should be good for the 21st. I've never been to Rock Lake. Golden is fine, it's an easy shallow pool. There were a few carp in there, they were not real big. I'm interested in working the sling a little this trip on pan fish. Really I just want to dive. so maybe in the middle of the spearing I may make Wreck spot me if he shows up! :)

I haven't been to rock in some time- we used a boat to cross the lake last time- I no longer have a boat- so.........I guessing there is a spot to enter on the other side?

I've speared plenty of carp, and other fish, right off the north shore. There are a few different entry points around the lake.

Sure, pick me up at 5:00 am. I'll try to sleep through the drive, that way I will not see the dangers. It worked riding with Scott through Atlanta! LOL

well i ant fit 3 guys in the back and 3 up front if you dont mind scott playing with you leg LOL but i thought if it is a blood bath with carp we will have some were to throw them all

Sept. 21st huh might be a good time. I will try to make it with my buddy, that is if our procrastinating asses are welcome. I try to come out and there is always something that comes up last minute that is REALLY important. Figures! :crutch

I would sure love to try out the new carbon thumper!

Ok- So, I was thinking Lake Geneva or ROCK Lake- not sure on the vis for Rock Lake- It would be a good pick, If the vis is good.

Where is Rock Lake? Do we have access to Geneva at a good dive location? Scott, you won't have a boat right? So we are shore diving I assume. I'm anxious to get back in the water. I'll be in a pool this weekend, but nothing compares to open water.

Rock Lake is by LAKE MILLS, WI in Jefferson Co. about 15mins east of Madison. Lake Geneva has a few spots for shore entry- I hope to have my scooter by then.
