I went out today with Dam Nguyen and Jeff Bonisa. Dam is on fire lately, and he got a 57 pounder today.

I've got a minute before my wife gets home for dinner, so I'll try to get across the great skill required.

The water was very murky and the kelp was very thick. He was crawling across the kelp and looked down through an opening to see this fish swimming under him. By the time he got the gun pointed down, it was out of sight. He was tempted to shoot where he thought it would be, but refrained. He was rewarded when the fish turned around and swam under him again.

I'm going to work on my kelp crawl.

When I downloaded the pics, I found that he had snuck photos of Jeff and I trying not to cry on the way home, so here they are.

I'm just jealous that yall have the TIME to go out. Who cares if I get anything. Right now I've had 3 chances scotched due working on the horse barn roof....oh well.

Nice fish! How much meat does a fish like that provide, and how many meals does that translate to?

I'm also curious to know how you get to the point of hunting for wsb in terms of the amount of experience you need to have under your belt, etc. I'm still at the wannabe stage
