Hi

I'm planning a 4 weeks SF trip I wanna get my one fish.
I'm Ready to go pretty much anywhere on the planet.
Could be a known place or a nowhere.
I can hunt at 40-50 feet, it ain't much, but the season is short in Canada.
I will train seriously before going, but i doubt that i'll go more than 10 feet deeper.
Considering this, what would be your suggestion.

By the way I was wondering, Is there somebody that went or knows about SF in Haiti.
Dominican Republic is right next and it's a good place for scuba and Freediving.

Thanks

Decent spearfishing nearly always requires local knowledge. If you have the $ to rent a boat and place to stay, the Abaco's in the Bahamas can be pretty nice, even without local knowledge. Want to go that way, pm me.

Another possibility

Spearfishing Cozumel Reviews - Cozumel, Quintana Roo Attractions - TripAdvisor

A close diving buddy of mine, and excellent spearo, has done several trips with this guy, see "return to Cozumel- gun in hand", thread by Unirdna for some more info. Unirdna gave a strong recommendation, also got some nice fish. Coz diving is mostly high current, so you need to be in good shape.

I don't think Haiti will offer much.

Just had a good time reading some of Leo's reviews. The few less that ecstatic ones who dove with him have a common thread that has much more to do with conditions in Coz than with Leo. Its not the easiest place to spear good fish. PM me if you want to pursue that.
