Hi, now the summer is starting to draw to a close and having missed a few long range shots with my 75 I've decided to build my own ideal speargun. Its going to be a railgun in the 85-90 cm range, single band and made of mahogany, (got some knocking about the workshop). Was going to make my own trigger assy but time constraints and the fact that off the shelf units are so cheap means that that can wait untill another time.Got a quick question on the merits of different shafts. I would like to use a standard notched shaft with a dyneema wishbone but are these shafts compatible with neptonics triggers? can anyone reccomend a trigger assy to suit a notched euro shaft. many thanks.

The Neptonics "Reef" trigger mechanism is available to fit either square notched (aka "Riffe" or "American") style shafts, or round notch ("Euro") style shafts. Just be sure to specify which style you prefer when ordering. I don't know if you can specify online, so it might be best to phone or email and talk to Josh (the owner). The Reef mechs are available with a couple of different line release options as well (standard, auto-resetting), as well as in a "reverse" arrangement that gives you a slightly longer band pull, so you may want to talk to Josh about which you prefer.

I have only used a few triggers, but I find the Neptonics series to be of excellent quality and an outstanding value for the money.
