Hi all,
Discussing with a friend of mine (the one who creates the Triaxx gun), came the shaft guide subject on a wood gun.
He has made some testing (without me) and he argues that the shaft will be stuck to the guide and so the initial velocityu of the shaft will decreased exponentially.
According to his testing, the best solution would be not to make the shaft guide homogeneous but to build it with some stripes.
One very simple test to verify this idea is to wet the gun and incline it, head to the bottom.
In the case of a classic guide, we can see that the shaft need a bigger angle to make the shaft slip into the guide (ie: this means the shaft need more power to go).
In the case of a modify guide (well, I've done some stripes with tools and sand paper in my shaft guide), the shaft needs less poer (less angle) to go.
Well, that was just a thinking but I guess it is worth to be share.
NB: As my wood gun is not finished yet, I've done the guide testind describe on top with a carbon barrel I have. I presume it will be the same thing with a wood barrel varnished.
