Hello everyone,
I have a 1983 Beuchat Marlin speargun ( I think it is from 1983 or later). I have replaced the shaft with one of those cold rolled steel shafts and the shaft is always getting bent. i would like to replace it with a spring steel shaft, but I am weary of spending the money before I know it will fit. I am from Rochester NY, and there isn't a local dive shop where I can try these shafts out.

Below is a sketch of the replacement (new) and the original (old) speargun trigger mechanism cutout of the spear shaft. Both cutouts seem to work extremly well in my gun.

Currently I have the gun setup with an open muzzel (Biller metal muzzel) so I can replace the bands cheaply. Also I tend to run either one 3/4" band or two 16 mm bands with cable wishbones. My spears are around 6.5mm or 7mm and 4 feet long... i don't care if I go a few inchs shorter or longer (rather shorter).

Does anyone know what types of shafts I could possibly use in my gun?

Dear dukeblaster

Tte 1983 Beuchat Marlin speargun can accept all european style shafts.
You can also use riffe euroshaft 6.75/1.30cm if the tube of the speargun is 90cm or else if it is 75cm use 1.15cm shaft if the tube is 100cm then the shaft must be 1.40cm.the 7mm shaft is a litle heavy for this gun.

regards
