A newcomer to spearfishing, I have recently bought two knives: a Cressi killer and the Omer mini laser (teflon coated).

Is it easy to keep a sharp edge on these blades?

I would like to use these knives for gutting and possibly descaling fish, however if they quickly blunt and I can't get them sharp I will use them only in an emergency.

Omer laser, mini laser and maxi laser are made of bad steel... Keep them greasy because the edges are getting blunt because of the rust. I keep them sharp by sharpening them at greater angle (around 35°). It is ok for gutting the fish and scaling.
