sounds good , are you a club or just youself .This friday or next friday and what time please , oh and who are so i know who to meet , email ?

I am not in Sheffield at the moment, but I used to go to Ponds Forge on Fridays 8:30-9:30 pm. If you get there for 8:00 you can get 1.5 hrs out of the session. It is in diving pool, so you get 5.8m of depth, which is not too bad compared to average pools.
It is Divemaster scuba club www.divemasterscuba.net from Staveley. Mike will be able to tell you the details. I remeber paying £20 for membership and then £5 per session. There used to be few more freedivers at those trainings, but I cannot tell you if they still attend. If you do not find watcher, I'll be back in a week hopefully.

Hi

There are a few of us who freedive on a friday night at pondsforge, we will be there this friday night I think.

Cheers

Hello. I am not Sheffield-based but sometimes head up from Loughborough to the Peak District for a spot of mucking about on the rocks. If Friday is your pool session, I'd be interested in popping along to the occasional one! I guess I'd have to join up with the scuba club though for insurance? I shall look into that and I shall watch this space

Hi

We will probably be there this friday. I think it is £10 to join with the first session for free, after that its £5 per session.

its always worth ringing them before you set off as now and then Ponds Forge close the dive pool due to swimming Galas etc.

Might See you later

By the way it starts at 8 pm finishes about 9:30pm

I'm bumping this thread. Mark I sent you a message last week; I'll try calling a bit later - could be up for a trip to Sheffield this Friday if you lot are up there.

Cheers!

Hi I am resurrecting my presence on this thread - I didn't manage to get any info a few months ago and thought it would be useful to ask again on the forums so others can see...
Is there a regular Friday night scuba session at Ponds Forge which allows freedivers to play alongside? Is there a regular group of freedivers going? Who do I contact to arrange going up there, do I need to join theclub or just pay an entry fee each time? etc etc. There's two or three of us who'd be keen to come up, but I'd like to know what the arrangements are

Thanks

There is a club scuba club that goes on a friday night called adventure divers who will accomadate freedivers, you can call them on 01246245408. If you plan on going let me know as i would also like to join in , cheers Dave.

Thanks Dave. September is looking a bit busy but the third weekend - Fri 19th - is a possibility. Let's pencil it in. I'll call the club.

I have been away for a while.
I just checked with Divemaster club in Stavley and they still do sessions 8:30-9:30 pm, Fridays, Ponds Forge (turn up at 8 and steal half an hour ). Mike (scuba leader) is still there, so I guess there should not be a problem for freedivers do the training.
I'll see you there (whoever turns up).

I spoke to Mike yesterday and I shall attend this Friday, to display my great ineptitude. Bringing a friend who used to play underwater rugby, yes rugby, none of this Octopush nonsense for him!

Last night was great. Never seen so many freedivers at one place. We could even have a proper club in the future. Thanks everyone.

12th December is off at Ponds Forge guys.

Top pool session that, what a great venue

Octopus I'll meet for a spearing session once the season kicks in. I've had some advice from Pastor about what gun to get. We could do a target practice session in that pool before we go out rofl

Don't forget any of you are welcome the short trip over here to for pool or open water. I'll try and get to your open water session a couple of times next year. If you need any help getting stuff up and running let me know.

See ya

Steve
