How much does spectra or braided dyneema 1/16th" shooting line slow down the shot as compared to 250 lbd mono ? I have a Jbl Explorer lightning 24 speargun with 2 wraps thanks from SpearoNut1956

No personal experience with the thin spectra, but have heard that it can be more dangerous to your joints than mono. The mono stretches when you and the fish pull in different directions. The Spectra doesn't stretch, so joints and nerves may suffer from a sudden pull.

I use 180 kg Dynema on a reel gun, no mono. Firstly the gun is way more accurate and secondly the dynema will not cut off on the reef as easily as mono. On my breakaway rig I use mono as I rig up a small bungy tied to the mono to hold the tension of the mono on the trigger release. Not sure if the speed is influenced.
