I read that spraying silicone ocasionaly on the wetsuit (neoprene surface) can increase suits life.
Oxidation causes neoprene material to lose it's special oils and becomes more brittle.
Silicone protects the surface or it is absorbed in the neoprene?
Anyone knows?

if you do use it do not use one with a petro base. it should not hurt your suit, but i have never tried. the only thing that will be bad would be solvents.

I wouldn't go crazy experimenting with your wetsuit. If you just want to make your wetsuit last longer they sell wetsuit "shampoo" at most surf and dive shops that are made to condition your wetsuit and definently won't screw it up. Carefull with neoprene it's fragile!

that soap they sell is best used to get the pee smell out:t i dont think i has helped the life of any of my suites yet:(

They do make soaps that improve the life of your suit. I use them and the suit is way more supple afterwards. Pee in your dive suit is bad luck, it attracts sharks but keeps your friends from borrowing it.

Anyone used skinglide? Could someore read the contents? I always thought that it was mostly made from glycerine. It is reputed to protect the suit.

P.S. i tryed silicone spray on an old suit i don't use any more to see if anything bad hapens.

οκ silicone does not harm neoprene but it could be a problem when trying to repair the suit with some kind of neoprene adhersive.
On the other hand glycerine seems promising since it has all the plus of silicone and it is easily washed of with water.

Washing glycerine off with water shouldn't(™ :) ) work so well. Glycerine is a fat, so You'd need some surfactant (detergent) to wash it off.

Has anyone ever tried silicone spray as a lubricant for open cell suits? The way this stuff makes things slippery (say, the floor where You treated Your bike parts with it :t) it should make the suit slip on and off by itself..
