simple vs. fancy snorkels?

I had a long pause and I was not up to date with new products. I have avoiding </span>snorkels with valves, but this autumn was the Red Ѕea and because of the problems with my teeth I found that there were better tube valve, (Pro Blue, Tiara 2) but to my surprise I absolutely responding, maybe because the intersection of the tube is variable ?

I haven't tried the fancy ones, but I prefer the Riffe Stable to the simple j types like the popular Omer Zoom.

I actually have the Cressi Corsica now and so far it kind of sucks. The mouth piece can't seem to be in the correct angle ot stay in. I always need to bite down on it or it will try and pop out of my mouth.

I think I'll buy the "Gull Stable" it's exactly like the Riffe Stable.
The flexible bend allows easy fit, and moves out of the way when you take it out. As far as purge valves? I'm not sure about durrability? But the ease of clearing the snorkel seems appealing.

You have just answered my question! - I was reading this thread because I need a new snorkel too, as I bit through my Cressi Corsica mouthpiece bits over the period of a year.

No UK sellers unfortunately - looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and pay for P&P from Hawaii for the Gull stable...

First you need to define normal??
Yes it is a bit more narrow then some. But I like the streamline design of the tube. The slimmer tube also means less standing or stagnant air in the tube while breathing.

Think of it this way, if you were to use a long or bigger tube to breathe? If the volume or the length of the tube exceeds your lung capacity, essentially you will only be rebreathing the same air. You will eventually have O2 deprivation.

That was the snorkel I was planning on getting, but I decided I wanted a snorkel that moved out of the way when I removed it to dive.

If the Riffe snorkel craps out, that will be the next snorkel I buy!

I had to buy this one for Underwater Hockey, so it needs to stay put!! I already had one, which I mentioned I had sealed the purge valve up on, but it was hard, the sporasub one has a fairly flexible tube.

I have a few snorkels - omer's, tusa's, beuchat, and cressi.
The beuchat active tubair is the best one. It is easy to purge, soft, flexible and easy to bite. Cressi series with purge valve and splash guard are ok for me too. The dry top design make it easy to use in waves. The omer mouth piece is too short for me and I have pay extra effort to hold it with my mouth. The TUSA snorkels are just average. I can't think any good or bad of it.

I prefer simple one... for breath up i do not even use snorkel i use it when i buddy or snorkeling...
