old topic but... any updates?

as for testing, couldnt you just get 2 of the same gun, and rig one with a 7mm shaft and a single 20mm rubber and the other gun with a 7.5mm shaft and 2x16mm rubbers and shoot at a dense target, like rubber or plywood.

then just measure penetration of the shaft.

you could do different variables as well, such as gun length, shaft length, target distance. people could do tests with whatever guns they have and post results and someone could tabulate it all.

just a thought

Which mechanism, Vectra mk1/2/3/4/...? Seriously though, I'm pretty sure I've heard of forum members using 2x20mm of RA railguns in the past. Sounds pretty awful to me. [BTW my 20mm band finally softened up (2-3years) and is now quite usable!]. You'd probably need/want to use one of RAs thicker spears to handle it, although I seem to recall Rob Allen posting on this forum about some experiments he did with thin spears a few years ago (try searching DeeperBlue.com if interested).
