Hi every one, I'm going to be getting my first pair of long fins. I wear a size 43 footpocket with bear feet (Mares Volo Race for warm water scuba), my question is what is the norm when wearing neoprene socks? 3mm sock how much larger for the footpocket or 5mm neoprene sock how much bigger for the footpocket. I'm diving in cold water and 3mm socks are good for the summer but winter will need at least 5mm I'm sure and I would like to, at least for now be able to use the same fins year round. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have about given up trying to predict people’s foot pocket size. The best advice is to try some different ones on with socks. I use both 2mm socks and 5mm socks in my fins. The pockets are a little loose with 2mm socks, but it’s not bad.

Thanks for the info Don. What size of footpocket do you wear with socks? Do you know what size of foot pocket you wear bear footed? I cann't really try different footpockets on here as there is only one shop in town that stocks any kind of long fins. They carry Sporasub and Picasso I beleave and I don't think they have much in the way of sizes. I'll have to get out with the club here in town and see if I can try some of their fins out I guess.
