Since my journey to freediving (started around '90 or '91) I've tried to eliminate all my gear to minimum. Next stop, getting rid of diving computer. So what next? I'm wondering if someone could recomend me a light weight, easily readable diver watch to keep track of time and nothing else. Throu the years I've mostly used diving computers and had a backup (Seikos, Citizens, Casios, Omega) watch. Now I'm trying to figure out something that would be the minimum needed, diver watch that doesn't weight a metric ton. I've already eliminated snorkel (no need, just visit the surface), fins (no need since I generally dive at depths under 15m and mostly just enjoy the silence, light and views), wetsuit (started to swim throu the winters around '93 and now days I can dive during most of summer with out wetsuit and I don't do dives in winter). Only reason I need a watch is to control my below surface time so I know I'm not too close to my personal limit.
The reason I'm back at freediving is the lack of equipment Same reason I practice barefoot running, yoga, hiking, own body weight training and all that jazz.
Recomendations and your experiences on more "natural" diving expected and more then welcome
Oh the diving watch I've been looking at is:
On a NATO or single piece rubber..
Any experiences with diving with out diving computer? I could also be talked into Suunto Aqua since it's simple and plain, but I fear it weights a ton and feels like I'm wearing something!
