Im new not even got the equipment yet but was wondering how many
people around this area dive alone. Non of my mates at collage what to do it so ill be doing it solo ? Im getting a few lessons of someone but he can't be a buddy. is it to dangerous im confident in the water . it would be place where i swim all the time eg swanpool. Thanks...

Hi dude, welcome to db.
What exactly are you planning to do in the water? Spearfish, free dive, tank dive?

O sorry I thought Falmouth had a art collage & you mentioned collage mates?
Anyhow to answer your question - Yes a lot of us prefer to spearfish on our own, mainly because you catch more fish this way! However I cant recommend that you do this without at least knowing more about you or exactly what you intend to do on your own?

Foxy is right mate, I spent the first year only diving with a couple of mates and they where the ones that I knew I could trust if it all went tits up.
If you’re only just starting out try to find a buddy to go with even if you have to travel out of your area a bit to do it.
Good luck and welcome to the underwater world.:)

hey gonesurfing 199, welcome to db,
i usually spearfish on my own but sometimes go with a buddy, and i find it helps when it comes to catching fish less people to scare the fish off the better. i find i catch more fish when i am on my own.
if you have never done spearfishing before then i would say definatly find someone to go with for a bit at least untill you work out your main hunting grounds, tides, currents and stuff,
have fun and welcome to db

Hi there. I fish the Falmouth area quite a bit.I nearly always fish alone due to the fact that i have 2 buddies that join me but due to family/other commitments we rarely get together. If you need any advice just PM me.
