hi all

i started free diving one month ago at swimming pool without fins & wights

and i can do almost 30 meter (DNF) and 20 meter dolphin kick is that good ?

i cant take a free diving course at this time because there is no freediving instructors in my town and i have no time because of my job but i could take it before 6 months

so what i should do at 6 months to develop my breath holding ?
what is the correct way to breath before i dive ?
is there any thing i can learn ? i only can equalize
and can i spearfish or it would be dangerous ?

i know my english is so good :blackeye

Hi LastBreath. Good that you are planning to do a course in 6 months.

You should be careful about training alone at the pool, especially as you have not really learnt any technique and don;t know your limits or the signs of black out. Read the "How to learn to Freedive" thread - it has loads of info. Basically don;t train or freedive alone - its too dangerous.

You could do dry statics to work on your breath hold. There are some static tables in that thread. Certainly don;t go spearfishing without any proper training. Is there a club you can join to train with?

Just to clarify: Even if you are the world's most experienced freediver; NEVER TRAIN ALONE! Think Patrick Musimu.
Snorkeling, yes, recreational freediving, yes, but never train alone.

Even in a public pool, the lifeguards will not be able to recognize the signals of LMC, BO, etc....-and it's really not fair towards them to act so irresponsibly in a public pool.

Plus; it's so much more fun, motivational, relaxing to train with buddies.

Oh, the occasional keeping your head under water to look at the fishes...."training", in my book, is trying to push limits, mentally or performance-wise.
 
i occazionally go sea-sighting between 10 and 20m....can be named recreational freediving because i go for fun and not for pushing my limits along with a lineyard...??
i think yes, but in that case i think also that is not wise to dive alone in recreational freediving either....
what you are saying above is some sort of snorkeling i guess.
 
no offence but it happened to me that sometimes, beeing carried away by the panorama, I reached some depths wich i consider unsafe without a buddy-diver....i hope i-m not mistaken beeing so persistent wit that particular detail...

i joined a gym (it has a 18m swimming pool and 2 lifeguards)
unfortunately there is no freedivers on my town to train with, even the lifeguards they are swimmers they know nothing about freediving or shallow water blackout

ok I'll work on your advices and try to not push my self to more than 30 meter till I take a course

is free diving on sea with long fins hard or easy ?

if you master the techniques, it will be easy...
long fins are made to improve the glide under water...

I've made a similar thread and people, rightfully, advised me not to train underwater swim without a proper buddy. As I face similar to yours problem (lack of buddy) I did my research and found some training you can actually perform on the surface or outside of water (like apnea walking).

You may also train your dry static tables (use search functions - there is a lot of information on this forum). My breath hold improved a lot since I introduced static tables to my training.

I guess keeping body in good general shape might help a little bit as well. I try to stretch 2-3 times a week, stopped eating rubbish food etc.
