I wrote some songs when in San Diego, Calif. at the beaches and coast.
Here's snips of 4 lyrics, which one's the best? I like "Wings..." best, you?
Please select on the poll. (first try, hope it works)

1) Wings, Prayers & Teddy Bears:
"Can you hear the thunder,
in a little girl's tears?
Can you mend her broken heart,
and soothe all her fears?"

2) Y.O.Y.I.C.
"Dondes Tu - Maria, Dimana Mu - Maziah,
Doko Desu - Mahalkita,
Wo Bist Du, Kasih Ku,
where are you, my love true?"

3) Songs of Silence and Eloquence
"In the spring-time, new leaves are unfolding,
the fields grow greener than ever before,
mother birds feeding and scolding,
waves crashing on the distant shore"

4) Knock That Off
"I never said, I'd be your superman savior,
so knock that off, with that good behavior
knock that off...knock that off...
knock that off with that good behavior"

[Songs copyright 2005, David Deden]

Just curious, I haven't recorded them yet. Thank you.:)

oh dear... i didn't read the poll properly rofl thought they were hits already out there and had never heard of them
sorry wet

No.1 is good. What's the tune?

Hi Island Sands,

the tune is Wings, Prayers and Teddy Bears.

Another snip from it:

"It'd be hard to find a trace,
of a smile on a little boy's face
without a mother's and daughter's
amazing grace..."

wo sind Du,
Artistic license or no, that should read 'Wo bist Du?' :)
Otherwise, hm.. can't tell without hearing them.

I also vote for no 1 and no 4 doesnt seem too bad either. A downloadable link will be cool when youve recorded it, lets say as payment for our efforts in influencing your decision ;)

rofl rofl rofl

Ich nicht sehr gut Deutsch gesprechen...
My grandpa spoke low German,
my grandma spoke high German,
I can't speak any German!
100% artistic license,
that's ok since she didn't speak German either...
Thanks for correction, will revise.
Melodies are original AFAIK, I'll record someday.

Down in San Diego, my band (New Eurekans-/-Nu Yorikans) did record (unofficially) on video the song "Silence & Eloquence", sounded very good, but I left it and my music gear there when I went north, so I don't know what happened to it, been out of touch since.

"Knock..." is a bit of a rebel song about how what political authority defines as "good" is often not so good for the long term future. It's also a double entendre for how prisons often release prisoners early, supposedly based on so-called "good behavior" but other factors can be the real cause (vice, politics, money). Basically it's a rant about honesty vs hypocrisy.

Did somebody say Payment? As a street musician, I probably earned $25 in toto. I'm the world's worst moneymaker when it comes to music. Definitely a starving artist. Could be worse though, I could be deaf like Beethoven.

Anyway, I just like the rhythm of the waves of the ocean, the tidal flow of breathing and heart beating and the harmonious flow of music in a band, a quiet symphony of sound and light and texture, spirit of the earth. That's music to my ears. The words add another layer of meaning, food for thought, like coconuts adrift.

I just started a new blog (since I can't make a journal here at DB),
take a look. :)

I'm working on the music now, at least to make some samples (WAV files), still trying to figure out how.

I composed an short instrumental piece using synthetic loops and some self-recorded sounds as a sample, take a listen at the youtube box:

THE-ARC: Synthetic Symphonic Synergetics

I like it.

Still working on the vocals, etc. for Songs of the Shores.

Please give comments at the blog if you like! :)

:head I made the same mistake

I like numbers 3 and 4. Number four is stuck in my head already rofl

No worries Joe123321, glad you checked on 'em. My policy on musical "hooks" is strictly catch and release anyway. ;)

I just opened a Music band site at MySpace.com, filled it with temporary info for now until I get more figured out.

Anyone can listen to snippets of Wings... and Synth Symph., these are lousy takes, but next ones will be better.

ps. I refer to the music style I like as "Blue Wave".

A friend wrote a poem and wanted me to make a song out of it, so I did a practice version of it, click on the 2nd song (a cat with coconut prevention headgear will pop up). It's called Maafkan Ku, with Malayo-Polynesian lyriks.

Nowhere near the final version, but off to a good start I hope.

(I may perform at the local jazz festival here tomorrow, but still uncertain)

YOYIC = Why Oh Why I See (not so bad recording, a little off pitch and some "tinny" sounds, but good start). DD
