So with the Christmas Holidays just around the corner what’s everybody going for in there stocking this year? Anybody got anything on there Christmas goodie list that’s just to good not to share with us?
As for me I’m looking forward to a 3 foot long 10lb Toblerone maybe a couple of bottles of wine, 1 empty bank account, 2 maxed out credit cards, 1 happy wife and 2 smiling kids.
Oh and at least 1 major hangover.:friday:friday

My son's already bought all of his presents but he says as a student he has to plan ahead and budget his money. Believe that when I see it.

We seem to be getting into Amazon. Last couple of years we have bought a fair few presents from them. Internet shopping from just one site with free postage and good prices. Almost too good to be true. A few of the family are now into Amazon wish lists (my son has 4). Makes it even easier. I might be forced to make one myself.

Thinking about getting myself a shockwave 400 torch as a pressie but have just bought a pre-chrissy pressy of a titanium knife imported from the States so might need the old santa disguise/excuse yet.

Most off recently I am into buying my grandson things (like he hasn't got enough already???). Because of that I am now a member of ebay and even use paypal. Not bad for an old man.

Dave.

I have so many hobbies I can never decide on what I would really like most!
However my best result would be buying the right presents for my friends & family to make them smile.
I have been busy planning this years yule log fire party, we have set a victorian theme & a soap box for anyone "wanting to do a turn".
I love Christmas time & in fact OMD, Derek, myself & other family members are attending a Christmas ball this very friday!! ....

Here you go guys, some early yuletide advice: the spreadsheet thing is a bit cringe-worthy, but i very much like the cash-only shopping idea; there's a lot of people who find christmas a real worry - which is all wrong, so here you go:

i'll get off me soapbox now :)

Actually guys, sorry to burst your bubble, Christmas has been cancelled this year. Santa's stock portfolio took a major hit in the financial crisis and was forced to sell his factory to a bidder from Taiwan. Who now make small economical cars with Santa's production line.

But in all seriousness, I mean, MORE seriousnesnesnesses.... I made most of my gifts last year, nothing flash, and i plan to do the same again. I started alst year as I was unemployed over the Christmas break, and I've had many more requests for me to do the same. It really can be "about the thought", but try explaining that to a 2yr old and a 3yr old!! =)

That’s a great thought mate and with it in mind could you make my 9 year old boy a new Xbox 360 as he’s just about killed the old one and a new laptop for my 11 year old daughter as “well everybody else at school has got a new one” keeps on ringing in my ears. Oh and just to finish my list off how about a new BMW for my wife, now if you could knock one of those up I’d be truly impressed.:):):)
But you are right mate IT IS all about the thought and not the gift and as for me I’d sooner have something that one of my family had made than some shop bought thing, especially if it was made with cake and chocolate.:D:p:p:D

Mart I was thinking about this what with the spearing, the smokers and your knowledge of fungi and other culinary delights surely its about time you took on yer man in river cottage and started broadcasting Guernsey cottage?

Been looking at some of last years pictures just to get into the spirit. My other half with the giant (chocolate) Yule log, my tree, some Christmas fish freshly speared, my house lights and my grandson down the beach on a festive season sunny Boxing day.

Decorations, the tree and lights go up tomorrow in our house.

Dave.

Lots of houses in my road make a good effort with outside Christmas light displays.I started bringing some back from America after my daughter emigrated but of course they've really caught on in Britain now and seem to get cheaper each year.
I try to do something individual though the continual rain has held me up this time .
Here's a pic of my main feature last year...mounted on a wooden frame about 3 metres high.
