Hello!

I'm going to South Cyprus / Pafos in the end of october.

I do not have a boat or zodiac there and I will rent a car only if I'm very desperate.

Can anybody give some good advice about good spearfishing places near pafos?

Thank you

f.f.

i suggest you start from this position 34.857176,32.348771 (on google maps) and move north up to 34.90475,32.31774. im not a spearo but i see many in this area.

also you can consider renting a boat. in cyprus you can do so by showing your divers license. for more info google "latsi water sports".

Thank you a lot for your information.
I was already thinking about going there because of what I had seen on googleearth.
I hope there are not passing too many boats early in the morning.

Also I hope that the water there is not too shallow. I don't like searching mullets or octopusses in the shallow water. Somehow it seems to me as if I just come close enough to the fishes, when it's deeper. (At least more than 6, 7 meters). Are there rocks in 10, 15 meters depth? Do you know about that?

thank you

f.f.

Hi ff

You get depths up to 20m with rocks at the bottom close to the coast. But the average depth range is in the 6-12m zone. Manijin and Geronisos islets are good spear fishing spots but they involve a bit of swimming to get there.

Boat traffic is low this time of year so I shouldn't be a problem. I suggest you get there early in the morning and use a buoy of distinct colour to mark your position.

Also check the weather forecast and if it gives you force 3 westerly winds early in the morning better stay home

Thank you once again.

I know you're not a spearfisher. But if you decide to do so and want informations about spots in corsica, krk, fuerteventura, cabo verde or if want some infos about fishing in austria, just contact me ...
