I know the feeling Scott. The bad vis made the dive I did a few days ago seem even colder and I got out after 25mins. This morning I was back at the water eyeing up conditions and thinking scallops! I just can't stay away.
I drove down to Venture Sports just after posting and bought a 7mm Cressi Comp suit and some new 5mm socks as Ive already wrecked the ones I got in November rofl that should keep me toasty.
The hood on the cressi comp covers a lot more of my face than the Spetton fishman Ive been using.
Welcome to my world of wearing obscene amounts of weight my friend. I knew you'd buy one. It's a great suit. I can stay in for hours in mine. Me and Scott are going down to the South Hams Sunday morning if you want to meet up. Team CRESSI Torquay, ha ha. May take the rib, depends on the wind. few of the guys at work have been catching big cod locally. Belated happy new year to all.
Triplets, thats funny. I can't think of three more different shaped blokes. I'm wearing 30lb of lead at the moment. I recon you might have to strip the church roof in order to sink your carcass, lol. Let me know what the visis like in the bay. Cheers
Are you guys wearing all that lead on a belt or do you use a vest as well?
At the moment I'm just using a rubber belt. I was a little worried at first that the distribution of weight would affect my diving. But it seems to work ok. However after a few hours it tends to ache my lower back. So I'm looking in to a chest harness. Omer do a nice one I think it's from the Marco Bardi Range. But my local dealer is having a few supply problems with them.
Do any of you other guys have any suggestions on makes of decent vests.
I went for a dive in Brixham this afternoon with Scott McBlue. No decent fish to shoot but we managed about 30 scallops instead.
Cauliflower puree and black pudding mmmmmmm
