Happy New Year everyone!
For the first post this year, I can report that the water today is cold, dark and murky.

Don't be daft Scott rofl. After last night, the only thing that would have got me in the water today would be Jessica Alba in a bikini.

Oh right roflroflroflroflrofl I was up bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning scoping out new spots, no hangover for me ;)

Water looked all right from top of the cliff but closer up it had that lentil soup look to it :head

Might try tomorrow or Monday. The wind is blowing all over the place, so I think it will be pot luck. If the viz is crap, then there are always scallops to find :)

Ive eaten too many scallops , had my full of lobbies and crabs aswell.

iv'e got the taste for a sand kite now , maybe a plump flounder or a ray. theres just bugger all viz to have a crack at them :head:head

Might have to take the kayak out for a quick paddle tomorrow and see whats about. the wind is supposed to be calm and small swell should make for a nice day.

It was actually quite good viz the day before yesterday down at Bovisands. From the shore, it looked a good 2-3m with a little off-shore breeze.

Heres a pic of the spot I dived on the 2nd. Viz wasnt too bad around 3 meters but a bit cloudy. D3 said it was 10c. only saw a few sand eels the whole time but always good to get wet.

I reckon late evening dives is the way forward at the moment. Was out early this morning trying to get in around the bay but theres no viz at all.

Been hearing of good flounder coming out the exe recently. One of the local anglers had a 3lber which is a beast up this way

Quite agree. It's been a long time out the water for me with a combination of weather, work, family and a cold conspiring to keep me dry. But it's a new year and Santa brought me a divehunter so things are going to get better...

Great bit of kit the Divehunter. the gun straps are a bit weak but otherwise very well made. I store a water bottle down the side of the tubes as well as in the bottle holder. Well worth making a carry strap as it can be a bit of a pain carrying it and all your gear back to the car

Plenty of room on top for the silvers aswell :)

You are to be commended for your winter efforts. My leaky suit forced me to pack in in November! Rep sent

Hahah, this is gold ;)
