Just been in for a 20 minute dip at Wembury, vis poor in fading light, some half decent pollock around but none taken, then a big seal came and said hello... I must attract them! No bass and no chance after Mr Whiskers has been through so I headed home...!

It was the fifth dive in four days for Team C.R.A.P today. A shallow bay near Plymouth was our target, and it didn't disappoint. We got in at low water to fish the rising tide and to hunt for lobsters. The viz was a bit less today, about 2-3m but it was adaquate for the depth of water. The total for today was four bass, a flounder, mullet and one lobster. Dive six tomorrow on an exposed reef with the remains of at least two shipwrecks on it, so we'll see what turns up.

Snuck out after as my boys fell asleep and tried a new spot. Saw one big bass, fired and grazed his head. It was an awkward shot but was gutted I didn't make it count. That was it for the whole dive. Millions of mackerel but nothing more. Still, got the gills wet.

Podge, the wrecks are there, but they are very well scattered and covered in kelp. You have to get right down into the bottom of deep gulleys to find anything. Mostly its just tiles, the odd spoon or fork, door handles etc, but you never know whats round the corner.
We fished the incoming tide yesterday, and swam out deep to the end of the reef to check the pinnacles before coming back in shallow to the stringweed. Rowan shot a bass on the swim out, and I missed an absolute horse of a bass because I was looking for lobsters and not paying attention. I shot the next one I saw that was tucked alongside a reef wall. The viz was excellent out deep, about 5-6m, so was quite hard sneaking up on them.
We hunted for lobsters on the way back in, and found one each, plus a crab.

Any info on viz for Torquay, finish nights Sunday morning & looking to get in straight from work. Won't be travelling any further.
Mix viz at Burgh Island on wed, not much seen. Took 1 long but thin mullet 2.5lb. Lots of spiders but not much else apart from the kamikaze holidaying kayakers !!

Hi to all my aquatic ape mates, thought i would let you have a little report
of mt last four days diving at Sandy bay.
Wednesday water 16-17deg viz 2-3m fish 3 mullet. Good dive 3hrs no missed shots took every chance.
Thursday 18 deg V 4-5 fish 4 mullet. Had a bad one should have got 10
missed 2 and had 4 rip off gutted. Saw lots of border line Bass in with mullet.
Friday 15deg
Whats going on 4hrs in the water yesterday and not a chill.
This was the worst of the dives V 2-3 Fish 2 Wrasse. Missed mullet twice on
the edge of the viz.
Saturday 15deg V 2-3 no help from the sun. 3hrs in water, 1 Mullet and
another rip off. Then i spied in a small gully 2 Bull huss did think about
dropping my gun and grabbing 2 tails but as they were about 7-8 lbs i shot on in the head and held then held him down with the spear until i got hold of the bugger.
Looks like later on today will be another goer, hope everyone is getting some action.

burgh island thursday, went all the way around the island. the vis was mixed but generaly pretty good. took 5 bass to about 4lb lots of mullet seen aswell.
Hi All,
Snuck out again to local waters, too late to dive but just enough to have a sneaky dip with the rod and look what I managed to wriggle out. Not spearing I know but it tells me they are in the local!!!

Got in after nights Sunday am, nothing for hour or so then bang bang bang one after the other.
New PB mullet 4lb 3oz
Took a small bass legal as promised my daughter a bass supper, which went down well.
No other bass seen and viz patchy max 2m.
Collected a nice 4lb + brown crab, but no goodie bag so found old bit of rope in around the boulders and tied it to rusting piece of metal, suddenly heavens opened around 11am and hit by wave after wave, Turned round to see a freak wave crash over the boulders, no rope no crab.
Viz now 0 so bye bye crab sandwiches!!
Not a bad day though as now 8pm and 32 hours without sleep and fish for the freezer.
A tired but happy chap.

Went in today at Hallsands and went by kayak almost right up to Start Point and dived alot of spots on the way back to the beach on a rising tide lots of large weed covered boulders with sand and stone patches between, great vis 6-8 metres really pleasant diving , but absolutely no fish at all !!! took a couple of spider crabs .
Crab was scurrying back into the boulders about 15 feet down, shot in and grabbed it only to realise I was semi wedged in against the boulders! Had to force my way down and back track out with air supply rapidly running out.
After watching it disappear with the wave, thought to myself was that really worth it. On my own in the water & not a soul to be seen.
Anyway it really is time for Zzzzzz
