spear fishing in the north west ?

hi , i am new to uk spear fishing , i have speared for years in cypress whenever i visit which is usually twice a year , i am now less able to make the trip as often and would like to start fishing closer to home . ive been searching the web and have found nothing about the west Cumbrian coast or any of the north west , i am going on my next free day to St Bees to check out the sea to see if there is potential ! it would be great if anyone can give me some advice on anywhere if anywhere to spear in the north west , cheers !!!
