Spear modification

I would like to add a JBL slide ring to my imersion concept pro spear so that the shaft can go line-free into my trigger mechanism. I need a creative idea to add a stopper to the lower part of the spear to prevent the slide ring from coming out of the shaft. (I hope I am explaining it correctly)
You might suggest to buy a new spear that has a has screw on tip, but unfortunately the ones available where I am are very heavy and of a terrible quality.

What about having a spring steel spear milled so that it tapers slightly toward the end of the spear and so catching your slide ring on the thicker part. I think using a phisical stopper on the spear defeats the object of your excersise not wanting anything interfering with the slide action of the spear from the muzzle of the gun, which is why I take it you dont want the line there. I cant really think of another way other than that or having a stopper bonded to the spear itself, if you follow this route Id say it should only be on the top half of the spear as to not interfere with the sliding action in the rail...
Just my two sents worth dont know if it can actually work

Just put a pin through the back hole of the spear so that it sticks out enough to stop the slide ring.
why on earth you want to fit a slide ring, with all the noise, drag and hassle to a perfectly good setup I cant imagine though

Hey Dave,
The reason is often when loading the line gets caught with the wishbone, after sever loadings and pinching of the line it will break very easy when pulled by a good size fish. Besides, loading time will be much quicker (in my opinion) and no lines will be tangled in the muzzle.

Hiya

Much simpler solution would be to simply drill a hole in FRONT of your spear's notches and attach your shooting line to it. Alternatively, make the loop at the end of the spear smaller, so that it doesn't interfere with your loading.
