Next year I am planning to got to Hatteras and check out the OMER Open. I won't compete, I'm not on that level of course, but I want to check out an event like that. And I have a friend down that way I want to stop and see.

Another trip I plan to take is to see my parents in Sarasota. CDavis is down that way, I thought we might be able to talk to him and find some one to got out open water spearing with. I know a couple of pperators down that way, but he may know of other places?? I am just curious if anyone would be interested in a road trip to Florida some time mid next year?

I wouldn't Mind taking a trip to florida- depends on when you are planning to do it and how far in advance notice I can get.

Um, this is the advance notice. AirFare out of Peoria to St. Pete is around $99 each way. It's a 20 hour drive. As far as when. Well, the palooza is mid July. Water in June, July and August is near 90, but hurricanes. March April and May is cooler, and may be a little rougher water.

It's open for a discussion. I'm reworking my vacation around the palooza anyway. And would need to contact CDavis to see if he can give some advice, maybe a location for a shore dive (prolly have to go south of there). Contact Florida West Scuba and Sea Trek Divers about boats and rates.
