I'm a novice fish hunter and live in New Jersey. Looking to broaden my experiences a bit. The visibility, locations and available opportunities for spearfishing NJ are quite limited (they suck).
Next year I'm setting a big goal for myself to shoot a west coat yellowtail. Need help! I have no idea where to begin.
On my end I will try to get my body and mind in shape for such an undertaking. But on the other side of the US - I need some information about who to contact to make this a reality.
I think I am looking for either some type of guide service or mentor or group/club willing to take on a person with my somewhat limited experience and teach me how to get it done. I will most likely need to borrow/rent any gear as well - not interested in toting all of my stuff on a plane.
Additionally, I would like to be able to package or ship my catch back East if possible.

I am just starting my investigation into this 2014 goal of mine so any help or advice would be great. I figured this was the first/best place to start. Thanks in advance.
