spearfishing buddy in San Diego

I'm looking for anyone who spearfishes in San Diego. I would like dive the kelp beds off Sunset cliffs area or LaJolla. I live in Point Loma, close to Sunset cliffs. I don't have a boat and I'm not comfortable swimming out to the beds by myself. It's not very far (quarter mile at most), but still....
I'm willing to pay for the gas if anyone is interested.

Hey So Cal, check out the San Diego freedivers. Next meeting is this monday, I beleive. You can do a google search and find their websight to verify that. Good club with a lot of members that dive this area.
